High-flying Spanish side Getafe have joined the race for Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos, and are ready to beat English Premier League side Everton to his signature, according to reports from Spain.
The defender has been surplus to requirements for Gunners coach Arsene Wenger after spending last season on loan at AC Milan, and the player has made no secret of his desire to move away from the London club in the January transfer window.
Everton boss David Moyes is keen on the Swiss international, and Atletico Madrid have also enquired to his availability, but according to Spanish publication Marca, Getafe have emerged as front-runners to land the 24-year old.
President Angel Torres has allegedly been in contact with Arsenal in order to discuss a deal for the central-defender, after being instructed by coach Michel that Senderos could be a useful addition as the Madrid-based side look to return to European football.
