Senderos Happy at Everton

On-loan Everton defender Philippe Senderos hopes he has shown enough quality to remain at the club next season.

The centre-half moved to Goodison Park from Arsenal in January but has had a frustrating time in Merseyside due to a number of niggling injuries. Senderos admits he is disappointed not to have played more this year, but harbours hope of staying at Everton next term.

"It has been frustrating but that is often what happens in football. Obviously I would love to play for the first team but the chances are limited so I hope to be as fit as I can when I join in. I think they know what I am about now. I just need a run in the team and then we'll have to see what happens in the summer.

"Playing for the reserves gives me minutes on the pitch and though it is never the same as playing with the first team I will take anything that comes along. I will also do as well as I can when I get a chance to play.

"The manager and everyone at the club have been very supportive and that is nice to see. I am very happy here and I just hope we can finish the season well by getting a European place."
